Saint Motel

Saint Motel is an indie pop band from Los Angeles. They have been described as "garage glam", "hard pop", "indie prog" and more by those including The Wall Street Journal,^[1] and The New York Times who wrote recently that they have "reanimated power pop".^[2]

Saint Motel consists of A/J Jackson (lead vocals/guitar), Aaron Sharp (lead guitar), Dak (bass), and Greg Erwin (drums). The band met in film school^[3] and visuals are a big part of their dynamic.^[4] The band's debut EP ForPlay includes a video for each of the 6 songs^[5] including the singles "Butch" and "Dear Dictator" which have both received airplay on Los Angeles radio stations KROQ-FM and KCRW.^[6][7] They also incorporate visual elements into their live shows^[8] and have toured with Band of Skulls.^[9] Next, they toured with Nico Vega and Imagine Dragons during the fall of 2010.

Saint Motel is known for throwing extreme concert events^[10] in their home town of Los Angeles and abroad. Some concerts they've done include: The Kaleidoscopic Mind Explosion in 3D,^[11] Future Fathers Day,^[12] The Black & White Show,^[13] Make Contact,^[14] a Rock and Roll Circus in Minneapolis, MN,^[15][16] a Rock n Roll Circus in New York^[16] as well as many others. One of the largest events Saint Motel puts on is their annual Valentine's Zombie Prom^[17]

The band has also played shows with: Smashing Pumpkins, Ghostland Observatory, Common,^[18] Kid Cudi,^[19] Best Coast, , Girl Talk, Ariel Pink,^[20] Neon Trees,^[21] Ra Ra Riot, The Morning Benders as well as many shows with LA bands like Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Local Natives,^[22] Rumspringa, Young the Giant,^[23] and Voxhaul Broadcast. Saint Motel played with the American rock band Train in Vail, CO on May 16, 2011.
